Halito/ Hello! My name is Dar and I'm a Two-Spirit Indigenous energy healer and intuitive organizer from Bulbancha (SE Louisiana).

Growing up, my grandmother Laura was the Chief of the Houma Nation–my small water-based Tribe located in Southeast Louisiana. I've always been immersed in my culture and participated in ceremony with my family. Most notably, my Mama Hilda was a Traiteuse–a Native Cajun Folk healer– and her ability to heal those in our community has always been a great source of inspiration for me. Though she died before I discovered my gifts, the art of healing touch is in my blood.

While I was working on my BA in Gender and Sexuality Studies in 2015, I was introduced to Reiki for the first time. It reminded me a lot of my great grandmother’s practice–so much so that I became certified that same year. In 2020, during a period of great emotional and physical pain, I got my Reiki Master certification and decided to offer it as a service for the first time. I am living proof that healing is a circle— when we heal others, we heal ourselves.

Since living in NYC, I’ve been able to hone in on my own style of healing that is equal parts ancestral and intuitive. Recently I’ve been finding joy in offering reiki in homes/offices because I believe what’s going on in our inner world can very much be reflected in our outer world. By sending life force energy and intention towards you, your space or both, we can begin to declutter and move forward feeling a lot lighter.
