Lauren believes that we are more than a diagnosis. She believes that we are the architects of our own lives, and that we can feel empowered in that role if we have the right support and guidance. She also believes that we are deserving of love, empathy and compassion. Using modalities such as DBT, mindfulness practice, CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy, Lauren works with you to help you embody these beliefs. She is interested in the mind-body connection and exploring the intersection between psychotherapy and metaphysical practices. She endeavors to provide a safe, anti-oppressive and identity-affirming environment for all patients, in which they feel supported and treated with unconditional positive regard. She continues to develop her body of knowledge and her toolkit for supporting her patients’ individual needs through training and professional development.

Lauren graduated from Hunter College School of Social Work with honors in 2006.  Over the past 15+ years practicing as a therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings which have provided her with valuable skills and experiences and informed the way she works with and understands patients.  Lauren has been in private practice for over 8 years, during which time she has worked with hundreds of patients toward healing from trauma, coping with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, identity formation, disordered eating and increasing self-worth, self-efficacy and agency over their own life circumstances.

Lauren offers individual therapy for adults, both in-person and via Telehealth. It is important to me that my services are accessible to all. I offer a limited number of sliding scale and insurance slots to clients, based on availability. Feel free to ask about those options.
